Meeting with the PhD Candidate of the Oslo University Bård Tuseth
On 17 of June, The Georgian-Norwegian Rule of Law Association organized a work-related meeting in the library of Ilia State University. The goal of the gathering was to support partnership between Georgian and international libraries. The meeting was headed by Bård Tuseth, the PhD Candidate of the Oslo University. He has been supervising the library of the department of international and public law for twelve years, during which time he actively took part in the activities of the international association of librarians, serving as the vice-president and member of the board for the international association of law librarians.
The representatives from various state or private university libraries, located in Tbilisi, as well as in regions, participated in the above-mentioned meeting.
The principal goals of the meeting concerned those activities that are necessary for determining the needs of the library that is working in the field of law, establishing relationships, sharing ideas and fostering further professional development of the participants. Moreover, the meeting touched upon the issues of getting to know the opportunities for international partnerships, together with the opportunities to attend international conferences and forums and searching for the ways to obtain funding.
After the completion of the meeting, participants were given the books of the well-known Norwegian criminologist Nils Christie to add them to their library. The names of those books are: “Limits to pain” and “crime control as industry”.
