eHRAF in testing regime
Dear users of scientific databases,
From November of 2016 until December 31st of the same year, users of the Ilia State University library can access two modules of the scientific database eHRAF.
Human relations area files (HRAF) is an internationally acknowledged organization in the field of cultural anthropology. It was established at Yale University in 1949. The goal of HRAF is to support and foster studying of human culture, society and intercultural behavior. HRAF includes two electronic scientific databases for teaching and research. These are: eHRAF world cultures and eHRAF archaeology.
The organization is created by intercultural researchers and is used by students, as well as academic personnel in order to study and discover anthropological conceptions.
The essential parameters of the database include:
- Organization of ethnographic data according to region, sub-region and cultures;
- Instruments of search include simple and complex searching methods based on the culture, title and topic;
- Full review involves such topics as: economy, history and cultural relationships, family and relations, social-political organization, religion.
