Use of TEX in Georgian language
Levan Shoshiashvili (Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University) will head the meeting on the topic: Use of TEX in Georgian language. The meeting will be held on 10 November, 2017 in the E 207 auditorium of Ilia State University.
TEX is used for Georgian language documents relating to the natural science and humanities. The meeting will touch upon the following issues: installing/arranging the Georgian version of TEX on Windows and Linux operating systems and examples of its usage, such as mathematical formulas, parallel and critical texts, as well as text indexing.
Tex/LaTex is a program package similar to Microsoft Word. It is employed for document preparation, but unlike Word, is essentially used by people working in the academic circles.
Tex was created in 1978 for the purpose of preparing high-quality documents (books, journals, articles) that included mathematical images and had American Mathematical Society in mind as its final audience. As of today, TeX is actively used by mathematicians, chemists, astronomers, philologists, publishing houses etc.
Time: 10 November, 18:00pm
Location: Ilia State University, auditorium E 207 (Kakutsa Cholokashvili Ave. N 3/5).
